The Weekend

Hi friends and family!

We’re so grateful you may be considering joining us for our special wedding in the woods 🌲🌲 We understand the effort it takes to come on this adventure and want to help make it as easy as possible.

You may be asking yourself, “Hey Callie and Arlen, why Idyllwild?” Well, first of all, the town’s mayor is a Golden Retriever named Max 🦮 so that obviously factored in a fair amount. But more importantly, we wanted our wedding weekend to act not only as an opportunity to celebrate our love and how far we’ve come (with the help of all of you), but to also provide a moment for us all to be together, feeling ease, presence, and connection outside of our normal fast and demanding environments.

With that in mind, here’s a quick rundown of what we have planned for the weekend…

Friday, May 3rd

The Celebration Begins!

Time
6:00pm — 10:00pm
Attire
Dressy casual, but don’t forget your thinking caps because Tyler will be hosting a round or two of Callie + Arlen trivia 🧠
Parking
The brewery has a spacious parking lot with a staircase leading up to the main entrance, as well as a ramp that can be used to drop loved ones off at the top of the stairs—perfect for those with sensitive joints like Callie’s!
Details
Join us for drinks, tacos, and trivia as we kick off a very special wedding weekend. Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options will be available, so as they say up in Idyllwild... Come hungry, leave happy 😋

Saturday, May 4th

The Wedding!

Time
4:00pm — 10:00pm
Attire

Cocktail attire suitable for the woods — we’ll be outside on woodchips for much of the night, so please keep that in mind when picking out your dancing shoes.

Also, it can get chilly up in the mountains once the sun goes down, so please bring something warm for later in the evening. We’ll also have plenty of heaters, blankets, and hot chocolate to help keep everyone nice and toasty.

Parking

Parking for the wedding will be just around the corner at the Idyllwild Community Center Kids’ Playground (26184 Banning-Idyllwild Panoramic Highway, Idyllwild-Pine Cove, CA 92549).

Please arrive at the parking lot by 3:30pm to catch a quick shuttle ride over to the venue. PS: We’ll have shuttles to take you back to your car at the end of the night as well.

Details
The fun begins at 4:00pm, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early to get settled in before our whimsical outdoor ceremony!

Sunday, May 5th

Plus, rumor has it, there may even be a special guest appearance by a certain furry, four-legged local celebrity—Idyllwild’s own Mayor Max!

Travel

So, you’re thinking of heading to Idyllwild and wondering how the heck to get there?? Callie and Arlen are here to help! Below we’ve included some info on traveling to Idyllwild and all the exciting ways to get there safely.

Driving

To all our drivers out there — please know that there are a few twists and turns when getting up the mountains to Idyllwild, so we strongly recommend driving slowly and during the day.

Also, it’s been an intention of ours to make this wedding as environmentally conscious as possible. If you’d like to hop on that bandwagon by carpooling with a loved one, or a new friend, just let us know and we’d be happy to help coordinate. 🌎

Flying

Flying in from afar? We’d recommend booking your flights in and out of the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) which is about an hour’s drive from Idyllwild. If you’d like help coordinating a carpool situation from the airport up to Idyllwild, please let us know! These two lovebirds would be happy to help 💗

Lodging

Idyllwild has loads of comfy cozy lodging options, and as luck would have it, everything is quite close to our wedding venue! Here are some spots we’d recommend for optimal fun and supreme comfort.

Hotels

Just a mile up the road from where we’ll be getting married, you’ll find a lovely pair of boutique hotels located directly next door to one another. Each hotel brings something special to the table and is sure to provide an exceptionally clean, comfortable, and enjoyable stay.

A quick note — if you have kids or a larger party, we’d recommend looking into one of the many cute Airbnbs located in Idyllwild, as the hotels have some restrictions around children and the number of guests allowed per room. We have a whoooole other section on Airbnb info below ⬇️

The Grand Idyllwild Lodge

The Grand Idyllwild is a rustic, luxury mountain lodge nestled within a beautiful cluster of large (and wise) pine and cedar trees. A stay here includes a yummy plated breakfast, gym and sauna access, an on-site spa, complimentary parking, and much more. Each room at The Grand Idyllwild is special and unique and goes for anywhere between $385 – $625 per night.

To book a room at The Grand Idyllwild Lodge, call 951-659-2383 and let them know you’re part of Callie and Arlen’s wedding block.

More info can be found at grandidyllwildlodge.com.

The Creekstone

You can think of The Creekstone as The Grand Idyllwild’s chic little sibling—a historic mountain lodge with a "stylish modern slant." Seven of the nine rooms here include lovely electric fireplaces, which add a cozy and warm glow to the space. Rooms range from $275 – $295 a night.

To book a room at The Creekstone, call 951-659-3342 and let them know you’re part of Callie and Arlen’s wedding block.

More info can be found at creekstoneinn.com.

Vacation Rentals
& Airbnbs

Idyllwild is home to more than 1,000 vacation rentals and Airbnbs (or something crazy like that). While we must admit that’s quite impressive for a town of its size, we also can’t help but think "Holy cow that’s a lotta options!"

Lucky for you, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite spots for you to choose from. Without further adieu, we present...
